{<Barbie Trammell with Pre} Well; we had a blast at Premier. Our collars (from my company First Dog Custom Leather) were a hit; both for the Greyhound folks and the Rat Terrier competitors. Jiggs wasn't feeling well; so unfortunately he wasn't able to try out the Terrier racing; nor did I show him in the Conformation class. Misty scored an 82 in her Rally Obedience class; so has her first leg towards her title; and placed 2nd in the Best of Winners class to a very nice male from 3 Bears Farm. We had an awesome time at Premier; meeting some great people; both from the Central Asian Shepherd world and from the Rat Terrier world. We had wonderful food, shared good stories and dog talk and . . . I acquired our new female; CH HDK's No Boundaries aka Kara! <click on her name to hear her story! Kara is related in a small way to Misty; and brings a different sire-line to our kennel; and a different size; she is either a small standard or a large mini (hard to measure; may have to get a wicket). I will breed her to select males (including Jiggs) in the future. Best of all; she arrived health tested and championed; by her owners Barbie Trammell of Burway Stars Rat Terriers and Rebekah Anthony of Hurricane Deck Kennels. Here are some photos from Premier; we stayed at a cottage; so some pics are from there and the other pictures are from the Rat Terrier specialty (with a few stray photos inserted).

<< See the gruesome-twosome over there. Yeah; them; URO1 Sands Full Speed Ahead and Kenann's Mirth N Reverence NBT. They are prepping (and so am I -- silly hooman!) for the UKC Premier in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Due to the fact that I am sharing a ride and accommodations with my good friend, Jeannine DePalma of FoxFire Central Asian Shepherds, I was able to afford to go to the Premier -- a really big show! We arrive on Wednesday and are staying until Sunday; both Jiggs and Misty have 2 days of showing; thankfully not terribly stressful showing; but a busy 2 days nonetheless; since we are also helping out Jeannine; we are doing custom collars and keychains for the Greyhound Specialty that week, custom collars for the American Rat Terrier Association Specialty that week and picking up a new female Rat Terrier that week. It is official; I am downright insane! Jiggs is entered in Terrier Racing; it will be his first ever attempt (now I'm really crazy); but what the hey; we'll give it a try. He's also a class male in the conformation show; we are going to try for a Total Dog (both a conformation win + a performance qualifier). Misty is entered in Rally Obedience (her first attempt; she's 8 mos. we'll see) and she is a class female in the conformation show; again with an attempt at Total Dog. Gotta go; gotta get crack'n -- pack'n! Wish us luck; we'll update when we get back.
